Why the blog title?

As you've noticed, I started writing "out of topic" from our blog's title.

The reason: We've made this blog to be our "pre-wedding" website. But we ended up writing nothing due to our busy schedule. And when the time came that we have time already, the wedding was over. So instead of wedding updates, we've started writing about "post-wedding" happenings.

But why not create a new blog?

The answer: We got lazy of the thought of maintaining another blog site (trans: Gin tamad sa idea nga mag ubra sang isa pa ka blog site).

So to cover-up our laziness, we just added "(and Beyond)" to our blog title. If you think about it, you could definitely talk more on married life.

No Reservation

Monday nights at our house, the tv is glued on Discovery Travel channel, in anticipation of Anthony Bourdain's show: No Reservation. The host's antics and comments had never disappointed us in making us laugh. May it be on food, place, or the experience He is having. Yes, the show is all about FOOD and TRAVEL.

Mr. Bourdain is an ex-chief at Brasserie Les Halles in New York. And besides cooking, He's next passion is writing. In one of His books, "Kitchen Confidential", He exposed some of the underground tales of the restaurant business. From drugs, sex, and why it is not wise to eat at a restaurant's "Lunch Special". Its totally entertaining and informative; just pardon the frequent cursing.

Here is a clip of the show when Tony went to Romania:

Last Monday's show was an extra special. After 8 years of leaving Les Halles for the lime light of show business, He goes back to the kitchen to cook for a day. His motivation? To prove to the viewers that He is not just all talk on food.

Yet Another Day

I should talk to someone who really loves their job. I mean, people who go to their work, each and every day with excitement, for the past 5 years. And I should ask them what keeps them going? What keeps them motivated?

I consider myself blessed to have a job that I like. But sometimes (or most of the time) I get bored. Hmm.. no challenge? Hmm.. sometimes. But is it just about challenge? I think its part of being a human to be challenged in order for him or her to be motivated. But its not all the time that the challenge is there. Could it be a discipline problem? It could be. So I need to remind myself that I should not waste my time browsing the web during office hours (or writing blogs), and rather read the technical books that I have. And this will solve my problem? Is there a natural way to have motivation?

I'm still finding the answers to these questions, but I'm reminded of this verse on the Bible:

Proverbs 3:6
"For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

What Happened?

Ok. I created this blog for our wedding. But where are the updates about it? What's the real deal?

Sorry to say that we didn't had a chance to write anything here. Just like the rest of you... we were pre occupied with our work, wedding preparation, and emotional tensions with work and wedding preparation.

My wife was in the US. I was in the Philippines. The wedding was in the Philippines. Guess who got the big role in preparing the wedding? It was not me. It was the wedding coordinator.

I helped a little here and there. But I didn't mind it at all, even though I suffered some stomach issues due to stress. It's for my love. And it was the best gift I could give her (I'm imagining you guys saying WHATEVER!!!).

To make this blog short, the wedding went successfully without you guys knowing what happened.

And to make it up with you, we will post pictures.
